Civic’s design for Civic has worked with the Horse Cave Mayor, City Council, Fire Chief, and Fire Station Committee since 2009 to determine the needs of the community and to apply for Grants and Loans to accomplish their needs. While Mayor has changed, and several council members have changed, we have diligently stayed the course to assist Horse Cave in defining and achieving their goals. In February 2013 Horse Cave was awarded a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant, which made it possible to move forward with their plans. While the station will cost substantially more, the money was needed to offset the total costs. Civic started work on the fire station design along with the Mayor and Fire Chief immediately. Currently under construction it is our expectation to open this Fire Station by April 2014.
